What is the difference between visible/draft, members only, private and publicly publish?

Visible/Draft is the default state of any item you add - it remains in this state until you apply one of the other three states. These items don't show up in the main tabs (News, Events, What's New etc.) but can be seen by anonymous users if they search for them. Members only items are available to other members. Private items are available only to you and the members you designate as having access. Publicly published items are available to everyone who visits the site.

"What do I need to open this file, 'cause I guess I don't gots it." refers to mp3.

It depends on how you have your browser configured for playing mp3s. In most cases you can configure your browser preferences to choose a helper application for mp3s. In some cases it will open in your browser, it should also play in iTunes or other software designed for playing mp3 files.

I wanted to change my password and I couldn't figure it out.

Click on "my preferences" in the blue bar. Just under the words "my preferences" on that page is "Click here to change your password."

Why doesn't my event show up on the front page?

The front page of the site pulls the five top upcoming events in order of date....the earliest date comes first.
