"Radio Makes Radio" @ Southern Exposure, San Francisco

Document Actions
Saturday, October 16 2004, 1-5 PM. Southern Exposure Gallery, 401 Alabama Street, San Francisco: "Radio Makes Radio" - featuring Chris Brown and Guillermo Galindo, plus RAJAR (Bob Boster, Xopher Davidson, Mic Gendreau, David Kwan and Patty Liu). Performances begin at 1pm in the afternoon and will be broadcast on Neighborhood Public Radio at 88.9 FM, as part of the "The Way We Work" exhibition. Chris Brown and Guillermo Galindo present an audience interactive, live electronic music performance concerning the transmission of culture through the information media of sound and radio. RAJAR is a collective project founded by Bob Boster, Xopher Davidson, Michael Gendreau, David Kwan, and Patty Liu, based on the idea of extending appropriation's hold on the art world to include real-time manipulations of live radio transmissions. Each performance is a unique experience as a result of the differing radio reception at each location and the program material available on air at the moment. Admission is FREE.
